Innsbruck is the capital city of the federal state of Tyrol (Tirol) in western Austria. It is located in the Inn Valley at the junction with the Wipptal (Sill River), which provides access to the Brenner Pass, some 30 km (18.6 mi) south of Innsbruck. It is about half way between Munich (Germany) and Verona (Italy). There are buses which ply to the resort from most of the airports listed above. However, if you are looking at using public transport from other airports, be aware that there will be necessary changes. Train options from Innsbruck airport are available with Trains running Mon-Fri, 6 AM to 10:30 PM, every 30 minutes. The journey takes half an hour to reach the resort. Trains also ply from Salzburg Airport, Mon- Sun, every 60 minutes and take 2 hours 40 minutes to reach the resort. From other airports however, train journeys take a longer time. While many people do use the public transport listed above they can sometimes be time consuming like some train journeys from airports not listed above may take up a long time to reach the resort.
