    Flumserberg is a resort area in the Swiss Alps, located in the canton of St. Gallen. It is composed of several villages between 1,160 and 1,344 meters. The resort sits on a terrace overlooking the Walensee, above Flums in the Sarganserland region. Flumserberg mainly belongs to the municipality of Flums, with a small part belonging to the municipality of Quarten.

    Flumserberg has direct access to 22 individual pistes, served by 17 ski lifts. With skiing above 2000 metres, snow cover is generally reliable. Besides skiing and snowboarding the resort offers various other activities like sledding, cross-country skiing, winter hiking trails and so on. There are a great ski and snowboard school and some great apres-ski options as well.

    Is there public transport to Flumserberg?

    There are buses which ply to the resort from the airport listed above. Train options to this resort are also available. Though Flumserberg is relatively close to all airports it may take a lot of time to get to the resort by public transport. Below are the main viable methods of public transport to Flumserberg:

    • Take a train to Flums via Rheineck if coming from St.Gallen-Altenrhein.There you have t change to the bus that will take you directly to Flumserberg. The journey may take up to three and a half hours.
    • Take a train from Zurich City center to Sargans, then change to the bus to Flumserberg. The journey takes about two and a half hours.
    • Take a train from Innsbruck City center to Sargans, then change to the bus to Flumserberg. It may take up to five hours to get to Flumserberg.

    Going by public transport from other airports may be time consuming due to many changes.

    While many people do use the public transport listed above they can sometimes be time consuming. You are much better off booking an airport transfer from the airport where you land especially if you are travelling as a group. You will benefit from a shorter journey time and a direct route.
