This resort has direct access to 28km of downhill skiing, with 9 individual pistes, served by 10 ski lifts. Leogang's local skiing is dominated by the Greater Astiz Mountain. The journey to the top of this can now be completed in 12 minutes in an 8 seater gondola, the base of which is located at a carpark five minutes’ drive from the village centre. This lift replaced an old chair lift connection in the early '90s which used to take over an hour to make the same link. Once at the top of the lift you have the choice of enjoying the huge sunny bowl above the trees that lies between Leogang's skiing and the start of the Saalbach Huinterglemm Circus, or taking one of the wonderful long runs back down through the trees on north facing slopes to Leogang itself. Leogang's local skiing is seen as some of the best that there is from Saalbach Hinterglemm.

Leogang is a municipality in the district of Zell am See (Pinzgau region), in the state of Salzburg in Austria. It is a famous winter sports and summer mountain biking resort. The Leogang Mountains(German: Leoganger Steinberge, lit. "Leogang Rock Mountains") are a mountain range in the same area and form part of the Northern Limestone Alps within the Eastern Alps. Much of the terrain will suit recreational holiday skiers best with nearly 90% of the trails graded easy or 'intermediate' - for those who have skied two or three years or more). Is there public transport to Leogang?
There are buses which ply to the resort from all the airports listed above. Train options are available from Salzburg airport with trains running Mon- Sun,7 times a day and the journey takes 4 hours 21 minutes. From Innsbruck airport however, trains take around 3 and 25 minutes hours to reach Leogang. From Munich airport train journey takes 4 hours and 16 minutes to reach the resort. From other airports the journey takes a bit longer.
Advice on Transportation to Leogang.
While many people do use the public transport listed above they can sometimes be time consuming like some train journeys from airports not listed above may take up a long time to reach the resort. You are much better off booking an airport transfer from the airport where you land. You will benefit from a shorter journey time and a direct route.
