Some Facts about Dobovec / Kum

Dobovec is a settlement in the Municipality of Trbovlje in central Slovenia. It lies in the hills above the right bank of the Sava River. Traditionally the area was part of the Lower Carniola region but now has been included with the rest of the municipality in the Central Sava statistical region. The name Dobovec is derived from the adjective dobov, based on the common noun ‘deciduous oak tree'. Kum is the highest peak in the Slovenian Sava Hills. Its summit is at 1,220 m above sea level. The mountain is also called the "Sava Triglav" because it is the highest peak in the region. There are a number of structures at the summit, notably a church dedicated to Saint Agnes from the 17th century.

There are buses which ply to the resort from the airport listed above. Train options to this resort are also available with trains running from Ljubljana airport Mon-Fri: 5:30 AM–8 PM · every 60 min and the travel time is 2 hours and 34 minutes. From Graz airport too trains run Mon-Sun · once per day and the journey time is 3 hours and 8 minutes

Advice on Transportation to Dobovec / Kum

While many people do use the public transport listed above they can sometimes be time consuming like some train journeys from airports not listed above may take up a long time to reach the resort.
