    Cortina d'Ampezzo is an attractive town in the Southern Alps. It is in the spectacular Venetto region of Northern Italy. The town itself is known as a lively place with plenty of interest to the après-ski crowd. Located in a wide valley amongst spectacular Dolomitic scenery, the resort has three major ski areas, all are accessible with the famous Dolomiti Superski pass. Skiing is of the highest quality as Cortina d'Ampezzo is a former Olympic site. The slopes accommodate everyone from beginners to the most ardent of professionals and it has  with 140 km of slopes. Within the town there are a number of hotels and guest houses, and there are many bars and restaurants. Some famous film scenes have been shot here, including some memorable ski scenes from the James Bond movie ‘For Your Eyes Only’.

    The closest airports to Cortina d'Ampezzo are Venice and Treviso as well as Verona, Munich, Innsbruck, Bergamo, Brescia and Milan are also options for Cortina d'Ampezzo but transfer time can be well over three hours during peak travel time. The most convenient airport from which to reach Cortina d'Ampezzo is Treviso or Venice, each of which is a one to two hour transfer to Cortina d'Ampezzo.     • Take the bus from Treviso Airport to City center, then change to the bus to Cortina. The journey may take up to three hours.
    • There is a direct bus from Venice Airport that will take you to Cortina d'Ampezzo in two hours.
    • Take the bus from Innsbruck Airport to Dobbiaco, then change to the bus to Cortina d’Ampezzo. It takes four hours to get to Cortina d’Ampezzo by public transport.

    The usual alpine problem of a lack of rail connections means that public transport is not always the best way to get to Cortina d'Ampezzo from your airport of choice.
